Ryan air/easy jet to Luton, Luton parkway (the airport station) straight to kings cross station by train, I think that’s easier than the London airports.
Edit - I think it takes about 40 mins and runs frequently you can check. It may take you into St Pancreas station which is pretty close to Kings cross. The reason I mentioned Luton is because alot of the budget airlines are situated there with Dublin being a frequent destination.

Either Luton or Gatwick.
You would get a thameslink train to kings cross and the thameslink station is just down the road from the main kings cross station ad sign posted all the way.

All 4 (Luton,Heathrow,Gatwick, Stansted) have advantages/disadvantages.
Heathrow is the easiest/quickest as you can get a tube straight though with only a few mins wait at the most.
BUT
Heathrow is hell on earth as a place to be avoided at all costs, especially if travelling out! If you are only arriving and not returning from there it’s not so bad. You will normally pay more as it’s home to the big carriers.
Chose from a consolidators site (Opodo.co.uk for example) the most time and price convenient flight from your departure airport and whether the actual travel time once you arrive (I suspect not) is really important!

heathrow is by far the easiest and cheapest to get to kings cross from. all you have to do is take the picidilly line on the underground straight to kings cross!
from gatwick the gatwick train goes to victoria station. you can then go on the tube and get to kings cross that way.
from stansted theres a train to liverpool street. again, you can get on the tube and get to kings cross.
heathrow is the easiest as there’s no switching and for the others the trains can get very pricey. i’ve found that often close to what i save by taking the cheaper airlines into Luton or Stansted I need to pay for a train into central london. something to consider! UNLESS your flight is very late at night or very early as the underground system closes. you will then need to find a coach! or take a train into the city and then get a cab to kings cross.

You can go to any of the airports: they are all connected to Kings Cross by public transport but costs vary. The travel time is about the same for all of them - approximately 1 hour maybe a bit longer from heathrow. Trains run fairly frequently on all lines - see for train times
Heathrow - direct tube to Kings Cross (around £3-4 fare)
Gatwick - direct train Gatwick to St Pancras (next to Kings Cross) (around £10 fare)
Luton - direct train Luton Airport to St Pancras (around £12 fare)
Stansted - direct train Stansted to Liverpool Street then tube to Kings Cross (around £16 train and £1.50 tube)
There are also coach services available from the airports which are cheaper than trains but you will probably have to add on a tube fare on top in order to get to Kings Cross and of course they take longer)
so weigh up the total costs of your flight and transport into Kings Cross and choose the best airport.
For information: the Kings Cross Thameslink station is no more - it is now incorporated into the new St Pancras station. St Pancras is next to Kings Cross Station
