Tech asked:
I am thinking about going on Vacation to Europe for about a week or so. I was wondering where is the best place to visit? Italy, France, England…etc. I also would want to get a tour with my trip to visit the best places, or is it just better to walk around myself? Also, does anyone know of good deals with plane, hotel, and possibly tour? Thanks.
I know a week is not enough, but wanted to visit atleast one of the nicest, best cities in Europe and esplore there until I get a chance for more time. I have been to ccertain cities already, but just want to explore more. Thanks for the answers so far.

I would recommend Italy, especially if you like art. It’s beautiful, there are a ton of things to do, and the food is some of the best in the world (no exaggeration.)
If you’re going there for the first time, it’s definately better to go on a tour with a tourguide. Many of them are really informative and have alot of interesting information about things you might have just passed by on your own.
One warning: make sure the tour company you choose is reputable and honest. My parents went to Italy with a tour company that went bankrupt and dissolved while they were on the trip! They were on their own for the rest of the time they were in Italy! They still ended up having a wonderful time, but you don’t want to have to deal with any problems like that.

As Europe is such a big place a week just isn’t long enough to see even a fraction of what’s on offer. However, if you are interested in history and want to see how Western civilisation began go to either Athens or Rome. Although, the two biggest attractions in Europe are, probably, the Eiffel Tower or Buckingham Palace.
Anyway, enjoy your trip wherever you decide to go.

i recommened not doing them all if you only have a week, we did eight countries in three weeks, and that was not enough time in any of them. I guess it depends on what you like to see and do, there are great musuems in all those countries, and old ruins and buildings too. Going on a tour will get you to all the tourist trap parts, but that isnt always a bad thing, you will see the major sites, and if you ever want to actually visit the “real country” you can come back. They really do speak english just about everywhere so dont worry about that, and maybe it would be fun to go to another country where they dont, you could pretend to be a real explorer then.

I recommend Rome. On your first day take an American Express Tour of the city. Then spend the rest of the week walking around. Try to go in September since you can get some great deals. If you go to the main train station you can get some great deals at pensions because they have people who carry your bags so you can check your prices first.
